We get a lot of great feedback from our Hello Bar users and we listen to and consider all of it. One request that we’ve been getting from users is to change the way we track impressions. Prior to today, an impression was the base unit of a Hello Bar view and it was essentially the same as a page view.
As of Wednesday, January 4th, we’ll be tracking your Hello Bar’s views as “visits”. This means that if a visitor arrives at your site and clicks around, it’s only counted as one impression. This should help your stats display more meaningful information as a Hello Bar’s performance will be much easier to visualize. You can think of the bar as tracking people, instead of page views.
How this affects you
This switch means that you will likely see your impressions (now “Visits”) fall and your clickthrough rates go up. In reality, your Hello Bars’ performance won’t be affected by this change – the net result is simply that your reports should be more reflective of the true engagement your Hello Bars are getting.
We hope you’ll welcome this change and above all, we hope it gives you a better view into your Hello Bar’s performance. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to drop us a line at contact@hellobar.com.

I am just starting all of this but it sounds good, thanx!
So how do I ensure that when I’m visiting my site to test new changes, etc, that those impressions are not logged?
Just log into your account and then go here: https://www.hellobar.com/stats-ip-exclusions You can add as many IP Addresses as you want to the exclusion list.
Cool. Thanks Jamie. I’ll try that. By the way I figured out another way… just install Ghostery… I think that works too.
I like this new feature. I just upgraded to the pro version but if I get over 100 clicks, I will upgrade to the next level. Hello Bar is worth it.
Hey Jamie,
Have been using the free version for a month with awesome results…. upgrading to Pro right NOW!!
Looking forward to even better results with Hello Bar.
